The Authors

Carl Cowen received his PhD from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1976 and was at Purdue University, West Lafayette, from 1978 to 2004 and moved to IUPUI in summer 2004. Besides composition operators, he is interested in Toeplitz operators, complex analysis, and linear algebra.

Barbara MacCluer received her PhD from Michigan State University in 1983 and was at the University of Richmond 1987 to 1994. She visited Purdue University for the academic year 1994-95 and moved to the University of Virginia in summer 1995. Besides composition operators, she is interested in differential equations.
