Student finds infinite value in mathematics

Anthony Aguilar | Mathematics, Undergraduate | Department of Mathematical Sciences If you ask Anthony Aguilar when his interest in science and math began, he’ll tell you how he drew himself in a lab coat surrounded by beakers when he was in first grade.

“I always kind of excelled in science,” says Anthony. “IUPUI offered a Purdue degree if I got a STEM major, and it was here in Indy. I was sold right away.”

When he’s not studying and researching, Anthony helps teach mathematics and physics to students in the Math Assistance Center. He loves being the safety net to help students from feeling as if they’re falling behind and being the catalyst for them getting ahead in class.
